The Story Behind This Story
In 1947, the classic bedtime story "Goodnight Moon" was written. It tells the tale of a little rabbit lying in his bed in his green room, saying goodnight to everything around him before drifting off to sleep. Fast forward 76 years, and 30 innocent Israeli children are held captive by the terrorist organization Hamas, trapped in underground tunnels in Gaza, up to 30 meters deep. Night after night, they are forced to sleep so far from their parents, so far from their beds, and so far from the moon.
Are they hungry? Thirsty? Perhaps they have a fever? Who's taking care of them? How are they being cared for? Where are they? And when will they come home?
We have created a version of this book titled "Goodnight Tunnel" to convey to parents around the world the terrible nightmare Israeli parents are experiencing. So that for a moment at night, when you read a bedtime story to your kids, you think of these 30 children, sleeping alone in a terror tunnel, uncertain of when and how this nightmare will end.
We urge you to raise your voice in any way possible, calling unequivocally for their immediate release. If not for the worried parents, if not for the terrified children, then do it for your own kids. Let them know they live in a world where this can never happen again.
